You can generally find a good sampling of things like T-shirts, men's shirts and ladies blouses in various styles, blue jeans (L.L.'s store brand), over-shirts, and a variety of footwear in the outlet stores, but I would never go to any of their outlets with the expectation that any particular item will be in stock the day I decide to go. The outlet stores generally get items that: are being discontinued at the flagship store have been in the flagship store but are a bit out-of-season have been sent out to a mail-order customer and returned because the size/color/fit was wrong but the merchandise is still in good condition (returned items are clearly marked on the price tag) or items which have been taken out of inventory because they've been replaced by an updated model/style. (We've found some good buys there at times come out empty-handed at others.).
Then, if you happen to also stop into the Ellsworth outlet store and find it there, you can always return the full-price item, no questions asked.īut if you just want to poke through a moderate-sized selection of Bean's merchandise and hope they have something that catches your eye at a reasonable mark-down, a stop at the Ellsworth store may suffice.
